Floors Looking Bare?....Cover them Up

Tile....No Longer just for the Kichen and Bathroom

Area rugs can often be very expensive.  The best solution to adding that finishing touch to a room while adding your own favor is by using carpet tiles.  They come in different colors and styles and you can mix and match them the way you want.  The very best thing about car tiles is if you damage one piece or get a stain on one of the tiles, all you have to do is simply pull that tile up and replace or repair that tile.  With carpet it wouldn't be so easy to do that.

Shag Is Back

I just love shag rugs and this leather shag area rug is at the top of my list.  Now this is something that I have made myself and it is very easy to do.  You don't have to just use leather in making this rug.  You can use what ever material you want.  I took a fishing net (use the size you want, small or large) and lay it flat on the floor.  Now leather could be very expensive but I went to the second had store and bought all types of leather coats in all different colors.  I cut the leather into rectangular pieces.  After you have cut all your pieces I simply tied the leather pieces to the fish net until I had a nice shag rug like in the picture above.

Not Afraid of Color? Spice it Up

Unusual Leather Wall

Looking an easy way to make a wall feature?  I found this picture at http://www.fopple.com/This ususual leather wall was decorated by Silven and Studioart and I fell in love with this piece.  Although the site didn't tell me how this wall was put together, it inspired me to share with you how I would do it.  Now whether you want to do the whole wall or just a small feature.  Measure the area you want to do and go out and get some plywood.  Cut the plywood into squares of all shapes.  I would then take some cotton backing and wrap each individual square.  Laether can be a bit expensive so I would take different types of fabric, solids, print, shiny and anything that catch your eye.  Wrap each individual square with the material of your choice. When your all done nail to the wall and hang them in the pattern that you want.  Again another inexpensive way to give your space a new look.

Decoration Inspiration

Decorating doesn't have to be an expensive job.  One could start with a neutral foundation and use color as you accent color to pruce the place up.  Never under estimate the power of fabric.  Curtains and pillows could be your best friend if you looking for a new look.  That is a very inexpensive change that could transform your space season to season.  So wrap it in fabric people for a new refresh look this season.

A Beautiful Beginning

This is my very first post but clearly not my last.  This blog will transform into something great.  Just a preview of what to come, I will be blogging on my favorite designers.  I will have a few things about scrapbooking and a few how to sections.  There will also be a small things that I will give a face lift too and you will be able to see it all.  I look forward to the comments and new friends.
